WFP’s Electrical Manager, Ricky Howell, has bagged ‘Electrician of the Year’ and ‘Tradesperson of the Year’ at the On the Tools Awards 2022!
We’re delighted to announce that our very own Ricky Howell has achieved a double award win at the ‘On the Tools’ awards 2022!
A new era for WFP’s electrical division
Ricky joined WFP in May 2022 to drive our electrical division forward and establish us as the electrical go-to experts, as is the case with our fire and security division, having been the recipient of ‘Fire Protection Service of the Year’ 2022 in The Prestige Awards.
We were on the hunt for a manager with entrepreneurial vision as well as expertise, which we have found in Ricky!
Since starting with us in May, Ricky has:
- Mentored engineers who have been training to be electricians, or had an interest in moving towards it as a career path
- Helped hire an Electrical Apprentice who he oversees every day and gave one of his mentees their first opportunity to manage by having the apprentice shadow them
- Filmed videos and become an integral part of our social media/marketing strategies to educate people about the importance of electrical Fixed Wire Testing (EICRs) and energy-saving solutions, such as LED lighting
- Instilled operational protocols and processes that have influenced, changed or made us think about the way we work as a business (overall, not just the electrical division) to improve the seamlessness of the team and the customer experience. This includes planning quotation videos, adjusting pricing structures, offering circuit chart print-outs post-EICR, and Planned Preventative Maintenance packages.
Dedication to quality
As well as the whole team at WFP, Ricky really sees what he does as a vocation. He is truly dedicated to being a first-class electrician and meets the WFP ethos of offering an educational and consultative approach to safety and compliance.
His balance of delivering the message of urgency whilst helping people understand without feeling berated or uneducated on the concepts of electrical safety is fantastic!
We’re all incredibly excited to see where Ricky is going to take our electrical division, and WFP as a whole!
