The Steps We'll Take to Get Your Fire Doors Up to Scratch:
Here are the steps we’ll take to help you make sure your fire doors are safe and legally compliant:
The Fire Risk Assessment: Your report will be where we start to understand what deficiencies have been highlighted. Is it a service, repairing existing doors or installing all new fire doors? If you haven’t had an FRA, we can get this sorted for you.
The Survey: Once we know what solution you need, the next job is scoping the job itself. If it’s a service, we’ll simply need to know the number of doors and we can quote to carry out an inspection. However, an upgrade or new installation will need a visit to survey.
Post-Survey: Once we’ve visited to survey or carry out an inspection, we’ll put together a comprehensive report, including any repairs needed. Once you’re happy, we’ll get cracking to ensure you’ve got amply fire rated doors!
Aftercare: Now that the job’s done, we can put a plan in place for regular service inspections, whether that’s six-monthly or annually (dependent on your risk assessment requirements). We can also teach you what to look out for between visits.

Fire Doors Explained:
Fire doors save lives…FACT.
Fire doors are compartmentation doors that are tested to ensure they can withstand fires for as long as possible. (You may have heard the term FD30 or FD60, which means the doors are fire resistant for 30 or 60 minutes.)
By doing so, it means you can delay or prevent the spread of a fire from one area to another, meaning that people have more time to get out of the building and to safety before the fire can be dealt with by the emergency services.
The two main functions of fire doors are:
• To prevent the spread of a fire when closed
• To be a means of escape in an emergency
It’s impossible to overstate the vital role fire doors play in any building’s fire safety measures, and it’s why they should be properly installed and maintained regularly.
The reality is that we hope we’ll never need to use any fire safety equipment or measures, but if we do need to use them, you want that reassurance that everything will work as it should when it comes down to it.
Because of the strict regulations around the manufacturing of fire doors, they should ALWAYS be fitted by an installer you can trust, as they’re your passive fire protector.
