You've Found Your Team to Repair, Install, Commission & Service:

There are loads of reasons you might have found this page and, whatever your situation, we’d really love to help.

Have you had a Fire Risk Assessment or inspection which has highlighted your need for more (or more compatible, i.e. of a different type) fire extinguishers?

Perhaps you've already purchased some fire extinguishers but now need them commissioned by a "competent specialist" and a servicing subscription on an annual basis thereafter?

Maybe you have had to use your fire extinguishers due to a fire-related incident, and now need them refilling, refurbishing or replacing?

Or, maybe you've just moved in to your premises and need to get all your facilities and servicing in order, extinguishers being one of them?

How To Keep Your Building Safe & Compliant With Fire Extinguishers:

Taking the right precautions to protect your premises and your people will remove a whole load of fear out of fires and help you sleep better at night. Here’s what you need to do:

1

The Brief: If you already have a specification of what you need then we can work with this to provide you a cost of refurbishing, replacing, newly installing or servicing. If you don’t, we can survey to find out!

2

Install & Implement: We’ll install a minimum of two Class A extinguishers on each storey of your building, and any others which have been stipulated by your Fire Risk Assessor or other fire safety professional.

3

Aftercare: (That’s yours, and ours!) We’ll carry out annual servicing and maintenance, plus discharge testing whenever necessary. But make sure someone on site carries out visual checks each month.

4

Get Trained: It’s one thing having extinguishers on site, now it’s time to know how to use them. We can organise for your staff to undergo Fire Safety Training which uses extinguishers in (controlled) live fire scenarios.

Fire Extinguishers Explained:

The more you know, the more you’re prepared.

Did you know that there are five classes of fire? And the type of material which has been set alight determines that category of fire, plus the type of extinguisher you’ll need to use to fight it.

The five common types of fire extinguisher contain foam, water, carbon dioxide, powder and wet chemical. Here’s a chart showing which fires they’re designed to fight (your Fire Risk Assessment should tell you which your premises should rely on); the colour of the extinguisher type relates to the colour of the label you’ll see for each one:

Fire Extinguisher Type Chart

The standard minimum number of extinguishers legally required per floor in a commercial premises? Two.

Put them in the wrong places though, and you could be making a deadly mistake. So make sure you choose strategic locations for your fire extinguishers so that they’re visible and easily accessible during a fire.

There’s a lot to think about when it comes to preparing for fire safety. To help ease the pressure and relieve you of the burden on your shoulders, our experts will make sure you’ve got the right number and the right types of extinguishers. They’ll help you avoid areas where extinguishers could be knocked or become an obstruction, and they’ll make sure you’re thoroughly prepared to use them.

It's so important to know how to use fire extinguishers, not just have them sitting in your building looking pretty or propping doors open (which they most certainly should not be doing!) Did you know, for example, that if you held the nozzle of a carbon dioxide extinguisher when using, you'll actually get severe freezer burn?!
