If you’re an aspiring electrician with the desire to undertake qualifications and training, or if you’re in the midst of it and need a place to hone in your skill-set, then this could be the opportunity for you!
Safety and compliance is our bread and butter. What this means is, because we’re also a fire and security company servicing commercial customers with the installation and maintenance of fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV (and so much more!), you’ll have the chance to dip your toe in to other areas which may interest you.
You won’t have the opportunity to just hone in on your skills as an electrician; you’ll be able to diversify and become a well-rounded engineer – hence, ‘Electrical Engineer’.

About the Role:
Shadowing an electrician/engineer from Day 1
Mon-Fri, 08:00-17:00 (4 days here, 1 day at college)
Working in commercial, customer-facing environments
Serving Customers in Essex, London & Home Counties

Before we take things a little further, if you’re interested in this role, you will need to register with JTL – the organisation we’ve partnered with to make your apprenticeship a reality.
You will need to visit the JTL website and register with them. As part of on-boarding, you’ll need to:
- Provide your contact details (simple enough!)
- Complete assessments, including Maths & English (don’t fret, it’s just a minimal skills test)
- A colour vision screener module (a posh way of saying we need to check you’re not colour blind so you can spot which wire the earth is)

From Day 1, you’ll be shadowing other electricians and engineers before you’re qualified and confident in going out on the road independently.
You’ll be supported by our Electrical Manager, Ricky, and the engineer(s) you’ll be mentored by.
In addition to your day release for college each week for your electrical qualification, you’ll have constant internal training (both practical and theory).
You’ll become one of the engineers! And we’re a tight-knitted bunch. As well as company socials, you’ll take part in a ToolBox Talk every quarter to enjoy a fry-up with the Engineering Team and put the world to rights!
It’s an exciting time to be in the electrical industry, and with us you’ll have the opportunity to explore anything from electrical installations and EV charging points to LED lighting upgrades and EICRs. Plus, the beauty of this role is that you’ll get exposure to fire and security engineering applications, too, to make you really stand out from the crowd!

Essentials We're Looking For:
Desire to work in an engineering role with technical applications
A keen attitude to learn and progress, individually and as a team
Interest in the electrical, fire and/or security industry
A valid UK driving licence (or in the process of learning)
Be enrolled (or about to enrol) on the NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation
