Senior Sales Fire & Security Consultant

We believe our customers deserve technical expertise

At WFP Fire & Security, we believe our customers deserve technical expertise, straightforward advice and long-term support.

Sometimes that means recommending a new system. Sometimes that means recommending an upgrade. Sometimes that means advising a customer that their existing system can be repaired and continue operating effectively for years to come.

We are looking for an experienced senior technical sales consultant who shares that philosophy.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping customers solve problems, building long-term relationships and acting as a trusted technical consultant rather than simply selling products and services.

About WFP Fire & Security

WFP Fire & Security provides fire alarms, CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, emergency lighting, fire extinguishers and compliance services throughout London, the South East and East Anglia.

We work with care homes, schools, hospitals, housing associations, industrial facilities, facilities management companies and multi-site organisations that rely on us for maintenance, technical advice and support.

Our reputation has been built over more than twenty years by doing what we believe is right for our customers.

Our philosophy is simple

Understand & Fix Your Systems. Replace When Needed. Not Before.

We are not interested in creating unnecessary expenditure.

We are interested in becoming the contractor our customers trust when they need advice, support and solutions.

The type of person we are looking for

Experience matters, but attitude matters more.

You genuinely care about delivering the right outcome for the customer, not simply the biggest sale.

At WFP, we believe our role is to act as trusted technical consultants. Sometimes that means recommending a new system. Sometimes it means extending an existing system. Sometimes it means repairing what is already there and advising a customer that they do not need to spend money today.

We are proud of the fact that our customers trust us because we help them avoid unnecessary expenditure. We believe long-term relationships are built by giving honest advice, even when that advice results in less immediate revenue for us.

You take pride in walking away from a meeting knowing that you have genuinely helped a customer make the right decision.

A trusted technical consultant

This role is not about pushing products or chasing short-term wins.

It is about understanding a customer’s problem, identifying the most appropriate solution and helping them make an informed decision.

You will often find yourself advising customers on:

Whether a system should be repaired or replaced

Whether a proposed solution is genuinely necessary

How they can improve compliance, reliability and safety

How they can reduce long-term ownership costs

What options are available and the advantages and disadvantages of each

We want our customers to view us as trusted advisers whose recommendations are based on technical merit rather than sales targets.

Ownership and initiative

You do not walk past a problem

If you identify something that could affect a customer, a colleague or the business, you take ownership and help solve it

You understand that mistakes are usually caused by process, communication or training issues rather than individuals

You are comfortable raising concerns, suggesting improvements and helping make the business stronger

You care about getting things right.

Human relationships matter

Technology is useful

Face-to-face relationships are invaluable

You enjoy spending time with customers, understanding their challenges and building genuine relationships

You also understand the value of spending time with colleagues, sharing knowledge and helping others succeed

If you have spent the day meeting customers and have the choice between heading straight home or stopping by the office to share knowledge, support colleagues and strengthen relationships, you will often choose the latter.
Not because you have to, but because you genuinely want to be part of the team.

Professional standards

You:

Turn up on time

Present yourself professionally

Are direct but respectful

Challenge poor decisions when necessary

Are comfortable having honest conversations

Take pride in delivering on commitments

Care about customers, colleagues and outcomes

Most importantly, you want to make a difference

You see this as more than just another sales role

You want to help customers, support colleagues and contribute to building something special.

Our Culture

People often describe WFP as feeling more like a family than a business.

We celebrate birthdays together

We know each other's families

We support each other when life becomes difficult

We work hard, but we genuinely care about the people around us

We are a close-knit team that believes success comes from helping each other rather than competing with each other

Life occasionally throws challenges at all of us. When that happens, we pull together and support each other however we can

The successful candidate will become part of that team

We are looking for somebody who wants to contribute to the culture, not simply work alongside it.

This role is designed to strengthen and support the existing team, not compete with it.

You will work alongside colleagues who focus on maintenance sales, account development and remedial works quotations, whilst taking ownership of larger technical opportunities, strategic customer relationships and new installation projects.

Success in this role will come from working collaboratively, sharing knowledge and ensuring opportunities are managed by the most appropriate person within the business.
