In two years, we’ve established ourselves as a reputable name in electrical safety, the same as it’s sister in fire and security, and we’re now looking for an ambitious electrician to head up this division to make it really soar.

Your Role in Brief:

Full-time: Mon-Fri, 08:00-17:00

Permanent role, starting as soon as you can

Based in Stock, Essex (when you're not at site visits)

Salary starting at £45k (Depending on Experience) + Bonuses

Involves electrical design, estimation & contract management

You'll Be Responsible For:

Business planning, including resource management (i.e. liaising with suppliers and vetting/securing sub-contractors), sales forecasting and determining customer target audiences/business types

Engaging with clients from initial enquiry through to survey, design, installation, hand-over and maintenance; and looking for upsell opportunities within and between divisions

Project administration where necessary, including the use of our business management system to log enquiries, create quotes and track reporting figures, and training our Service Desk on the administrative needs of your department

Working closely with marketing and other areas of the business to ensure the Electrical Division has clarity on its marketplace, choice of media and message, as well as accuracy of content against industry/legal standards

Training aspiring electricians within the business and auditing their work (as well as sub-contractors), supporting where necessary on more complex jobs

Reporting to the Head of Communications and assisting the wider team where necessary to ensure a smooth-sailing customer experience throughout

Creating relationship-building meetings with suppliers, manufacturers and partner companies to work cohesively for mutual benefit

Gathering, evaluating and informing on customer feedback/reviews to build the division's reputation and efficiency

Staying up-to-date with relevant news, trends, technology, legislation and standards within the electrical sector

Looking for new opportunities to grow the business, such as engaging with our existing customer base

Manage our NICEIC membership and any other relevant accreditations necessary to build the division

Smashing targets, and eventually setting and tracking targets for the team you build!

Skills & Characteristics We're Looking For:

Demonstrated electrical experience, ideally 8+ years in the industry carrying out the following (but not limited to): lighting and emergency lighting installations, electrical maintenance such as Fixed Wire Testing (EICRs) and Mains Supply Upgrades/Installations

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and spoken, as building relationships and focusing on customer service is key

Experience working with Microsoft Office (primarily Work, Outlook and Excel), service/business management software and/or CRMs

A reliable, honest and professional attitude, which is reflective of the WFP ethos and the reason why our customers trust us

Someone who is open for a challenge, and has a welcome attitude towards both problem-solving and teamwork

Experience working with End Users within the commercial sector and/or contractors

Working knowledge of the EN and BS standards relating to electrical disciplines

Good objection handling skills and a laser focus on results

Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

Must-Haves Include:

As driving to customers for site surveys and meetings is a big part of this role, a full UK driving licence is required

Status as an approved electrician with 18th Edition Regs and City & Guilds qualifications, including C&G 2391 (or equivalent) for Electrical Testing

Ideally, You'll Also Have:

Experience of carrying out and/or managing EV Charging Point Installations, or at least the willingness to learn and grow in this area

Demonstrated experience of hitting targets and/or KPIs, or growing a department/team from scratch

Previous sales and/or management experience of an electrical function within a company

Computer-Aided Design (CAD) experience or the willingness to learn it

An appreciation for marketing and what's needed to build a brand

The NICEIC Qualified Supervisor status and certification

JIB Approval (Member of ECA) and/or JIB Gold Gard

Training in First Aid
